Purpose of EdPrep Scholars

The purpose of EdPrep Scholars (an organization organized within and supported by Excellent Education for Everyone, a non profit organization, and E3 and EdPrep Scholars volunteers, employees and assistants, collectively referred to herein as “EdPrep Scholars”) is to provide background advice and assistance to high school students who have strong academic backgrounds, are determined to work hard to be admitted to and excel in college and who are in need of advice, but unable to afford it. The services provided to the Student by EdPrep Scholars are advisory in nature and, hopefully, will provide students with helpful tools and roadmaps to assist in the process of successfully applying to college. This is not a complete college admissions service. EdPrep Scholars does not guarantee admission to any college.

Student’s Responsibilities

The Student is responsible for working diligently with the volunteer counselor (“counselor”), knowing and meeting application deadlines for colleges and universities, programs and scholarships, as well as for understanding and following advice.

The Student is responsible for attending appointments with the counselor on time, for providing full, candid and accurate information regarding their goals and plans for college, academic and other information relevant to the college admissions process and for completing required assessments, forms and applications.

The final decision on the selection of colleges to apply to and attend, rests entirely with students and parents. Acceptance to this free program does not guarantee selection of suitable colleges to apply to or acceptance by any particular college.

Intellectual Property

EdPrep Scholars and its volunteers and counselors own and provide to parents and students valuable intellectual property, even if materials are not formally designated as copyrighted. Parents and students agree not to share or disclose that information to other parties without permission from EdPrep Scholars.

Limitation of Liability

Students and Parents understand that EdPrep Scholars and its volunteers and assistants assume no liability whatsoever for the Student’s rejection from any institution that the Student applies to or for any other liability or claim based upon or arising out of advice and services provided. Parents and students agree to release, waive, covenant not to sue, protect and hold harmless EdPrep Scholars from and against any and all liability, claims, demands, costs and expenses whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury arising out of or related to EdPrep Scholars.

Governing Law and Arbitration

The Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey. Parents and students agree to submit any claims based upon or arising out of advice and services provided to exclusive and binding arbitration by The American Arbitration Association.
